In Katakolon on 02 November you are in the port from 1200-1800

At 12.00 meet your guide, who will be waiting for you as you exit the ship, with a sign reading: "CBM - Bayside" 

Combine a visit to the birthplace of the Olympic Games with the modern city of Pyrgos! Upon your arrival in Katakolon port you will be met by your professional guide and embark on an AC bus for Olympia, one of the most famous archaeological sites in Greece.

Olympia is known around the world as the birthplace of the Olympic Games. The museum hosts some of the best-preserved and most beautiful remains of the Greek past, such as the sculpted decoration of the Temple of Zeus and the statues of Hermes of Praxiteles and Nike. Moreover, you can visit the archaeological site and walk among the remnants of the temple of Hera, or “ race” in the ancient Stadium. Afterwards, you will depart for Pyrgos. It is about a 20 minute journey to arrive in the capital of Ilia, the modern commercial and cultural center of the area. You will stroll through the heart of the city and see neoclassical buildings and churches, visit the Apollo theatre, and see the most interesting buildings designed by the German architect Ziller. Your guide will un the history of the area for you, while leading you to the municipal market, where craftsmen’s shops, as well as old cafes and bars bestow a unique character on the area. Upon completion of the tour you will return to Katakolon port.

* Olympia admission is 16 euro and is NOT included in the cost of the tour, but rather to be paid directly to guide in cash on the day of the visit.
