"Meet your guide, who will be waiting for you as you exit the ship, holding a sign that reads: 'CBM PRIVATE.'

Combine a visit to the birthplace of the Olympic Games with the vibrant city of Pyrgos! Upon your arrival at Katakolon port, you will be greeted by your professional guide and board an air-conditioned van for Olympia, one of the most renowned archaeological sites in Greece.

Olympia is celebrated worldwide as the birthplace of the Olympic Games. The museum houses some of the best-preserved and exquisite relics of Greek antiquity, including the sculpted decoration of the Temple of Zeus, and the statues of Hermes by Praxiteles and Nike. Additionally, you can explore the archaeological site, wandering among the ruins of the Temple of Hera, or even 'race' in the ancient Stadium. Afterward, you will set off for Pyrgos, which is about a 20-minute journey to reach the capital of Ilia, a modern commercial and cultural hub. There, you will meander through the city's core, admiring neoclassical buildings and churches, visiting the Apollo theatre, and viewing the notable buildings designed by the German architect Ernst Ziller. Your guide will unveil the history of the region as you are led to the municipal market, where craftsmen's shops, along with quaint cafes and bars, give the area a distinct charm. The tour concludes with your return to Katakolon port.

The tour lasts approximately 5 hours.

  • Admission to Olympia is €16 and is NOT included in the tour cost. It must be paid directly to the guide in cash on the day of the visit.

  • The itinerary may be subject to minor modifications based on local conditions."
